Believing in the significance of promoting the principle of partnership with the private sector on the basis of shared responsibility and cooperation with spirit of one team, encouraging investment and promoting national economic growth by facilitating the recruitment and bringing guest workers, the Ministry of Labour has started to apply the Golden List Program, which is deemed a system of work principles (Code of practice)that has been developed on the basis of commitment to implement the basic international labour standards, so the Ministry of Labour under this program has applied modern techniques to evaluate the commitment of enterprises applying to this program with work requirements, conditions and the adopted international labour standards by assessing the actual performance of the enterprises and their compatibility with the standards and mechanisms adopted for this program in coordination and continuous consultation with them.
The idea came to follow the adherence of these enterprises to the provisions of the Jordanian Labour Law, such as the commitment to wages, hours of work, overtime and providing the terms and conditions of decent work.
Any enterprise that has been inserted within the Golden list after meeting all the indicated conditions shall be exempted from the bank guarantee stipulated in the Labour Law instructions in the event the employer wants to recruit foreign workers. Any enterprise, wishing to join the Golden list to benefit from the advantages provided, is required to address an official letter to the Minister of Labour, along with a list of the salaries of workers in the enterprise wishing to join, a copy of the work contract of workers, and a copy of the latest report issued by buyers auditor and the budget audited by the enterprise.
Besides, the enterprise shall present a certification that all workers in the enterprise are subscribed in social security, a vocational license and a list of the names of foreign workers and their employment permits, their term of validity, in addition, the enterprise shall sign an agreement to train and employ Jordanians with NTEP "National Training and Employment Project."
